Olay Dream Creams: The Great White Hope

Olay skincare is backed by 60 years of history and research, and I’m happy to report that the prestige brand is bigger and better than ever, with some exciting new products. I recently had the pleasure to test several Olay Regenerist products, which can provide an important addition to your travel bag. Bear in mind, Olay has won more than 79 various beauty awards to date! Here are some great products to help you look beautiful when traveling, and great skincare tips for travel.

First off, the newest contender in the anti-aging battle is the fantastic Olay Total Effects 7-in-one CC Cream. Yes, dear reader – you read that correctly. CC creams offering Color and Correction are the new kid on the block, following in the footsteps of the highly popular BB (beauty balm) creams that were all the rage last year. I don’t wear any makeup during the week – after all, I work out of my home office and getting all dolled up is not required. But when I want a little “pick-me-up” I use Olay’s new CC cream. Why? The most important reason is that it contains a tiny amount of color to balance and even out my complexion and also moisturize my face, making me look naturally radiant. Olay’s new CC cream also:

• Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
• Reduces the appearance of age spots
• Gently exfoliates
• Counteracts dryness with moisturization
• Strengthen skin’s natural defense against moisture loss
• Recaptures youthful luminosity

When you don’t want to wear foundation – but want a little cover plus moisturizer – Olay’s CC cream is in a class by itself! Even better for travelers, it has SPF 15 to protect your complexion from the sun and its dangerous rays, filtering through the airplane window.

As a leader in skincare with an eye for emerging trends, with this product, Olay has brought the first-ever mass market CC Cream to the United States. CC Creams have emerged in Asia as a new category and are designed for women who love BB Creams for their ability to provide a quick, flawless finish but are seeking skincare solutions that deliver long-term benefits.

Here is some information about Olay Regenerist products in general.

Olay Regenerist has an exclusive blend of pentapeptides that store brands do NOT. Also, all Olay Regenerist moisturizers contain Niacinamide (vitamin B3) that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and strengthens the moisture barrier, helping skin to retain moisture.

Here are two other key players. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and Micro-Sculpting Serum have three times the amount of anti-aging vitamins as major store brands. The Micro-Sculpting Cream, for example, was voted by Allure Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards as the “Best Anti-Aging Product: Drugstore” for three years: June 2011, June 2009, and June 2008. It’s a winner.

If you’re traveling on a plane, also try Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Elixir during your flight. This non-greasy formula has glycolic acid and will replace your facial moisturizer. It requires up to five minutes for complete absorption (but you’ll have plenty of time on the plane for that). Your skin will receive soothing hydration to tighten your skin and offer gentle exfoliation. While you’re at it, try the Eye Anti-Aging Roller, with three mini roller balls that can reduce eye puffiness. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles will be softened – and you’ll cancel out that horrible “jet-lagged” appearance when you land on terra firma.

A little history. Olay is a product truly born from love, as it was created by a man as a gift for his wife. In the 1950s, chemist Graham Wulff saw his wife Dinah’s frustration with the thick, waxy beauty creams that came in shoe-polish tins. They left her skin looking greasy. Graham wanted to create a new beauty product for her—one that could not only moisturize her skin, but also leave her feeling beautiful and feminine. He did – and the result was the legendary Oil of Olay Beauty Fluid. With his formula complete and the first batch mixed by hand, Graham enlisted the help of an advertising agency that he found in the Yellow Pages. Account executive Jack Lowe quickly became Graham’s lifelong friend and business partner, and the two soon created a company to produce and market Oil of Olay. Today, with its name shortened to just Olay, it is one of the most recognizeable brands in the world.
